John F. Costello
SFC (Ret.) John Costello passed away at age 90 on October 24, 2022. He was a member of Chapter 54 of the Special Forces Association (Boston). John was a long-time member of the 11th Special Forces Group based in Massachusetts at Fort Devens.
Jack was born in Nashua, New Hampshire and was raised in Forge Village and Chelmsford, Ma. He graduated form Chelmsford High School in 1950. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and then the United States Army. He later joined the Army Reserves in 1970 where he served with the 11th Special Forces Group for many years as a Special Forces medic.
Jack formerly lived in the town of Tyngsboro, Ma for 25 years where he served on the School Committee for 4 years and the Town Clerk of Elections for many years. In his spare time he loved to read, watch movies, and listen to music.
Funeral Notice
Visiting hours are Tuesday November 1, 2022 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at the Dolan Funeral home, 106 Middlesex Street, North Chelmsford, Ma. A Graveside Funeral will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at 11:00 am at Memorial Cemetery in Tyngsborough, MA. Arrangements by Donlan Funeral Home, 978-251-4041.
