LTC Donald C. Van Roosen
Chapter 54 Member of the Year Award
This award is presented annually by Chapter 54 as a recognition for service to the chapter. LTC (Ret) Donald Van Roosen was a retired Special Forces officer and one of the founding members and former president of Chapter 54.
There were no nominations for 2020,
2021, and 2022 due to
very little chapter activity in a COVID environment.
2019 Member of the Year
John Friberg
John Friberg was been selected as the recipient of the 2019
Member of the Year award by Chapter 54. The presentation was
done during the 2019 Chapter 54 Christmas Party. John was
recognized for his support to the chapter and for serving as
the webmaster for the chapter website for the past few years.

2017 Member of the Year
Henry "Hank" Nilan
Henry Nilan has been selected as the
recipient of the 2017 Member of the Year award by Chapter 54.
On Saturday, April 7, 2018 Hank was officially recognized
for his contributions to the chapter over the past few decades.

2016 Member of the Year
Vincent A. Pestilli
Vincent Pestilli was selected as the recipient of the 2016
Member of the Year award by Chapter 54. He was recognized in
December 2016 for his contributions to the chapter, conduct of
the Annual Foreign Weapons Course, and fund-raising activities
with the rifle and pistol raffles.

2015 Member of the Year
Dennis Reardon
Dennis Reardon was selected as the recipient of the 2015 Member of the Year award by Chapter 54. He was recognized for his long-term efforts on behalf of the Chapter as the Communications Director.
Member of Year Selection Process
Nominations are submitted by the general chapter membership in December to the Chapter President. The Chapter Executive Committee meets to determine the award designee for that year.
