RIP Maria Pierelli. The wife of Chapter 54 member Daniel Pierelli has passed away. She was a frequent participant at the Chapter picnics.
Nominations for Chapter Member of the Year. This year the chapter will select chapter members for two awards. One is the LTC Donald C. Van Roosen Award and the other is the Malcolm Kalp Award. Nomination forms have been emailed out to chapter members. Awards were not given in 2020 or 2021 due to COVID and suspension of chapter operations.
Memorial Service for Pat Flynn. On July 6, 2022 a memorial service was held for a lengendary Special Forces member. Members of Chapter 54 attended this event.
Fishing With Warriors. Chapter member Hugh Van Roosen was Chapter 54's 2022 attendee for the Fishing With Warriors event. He did well on his fishing trip. This annual fishing trip to Costa Rica is all expenses paid for approximately 10 Veterans. Hugh won first place in the overall "pounds caught" category. Fishing with Warriors is a 501 C3 that was co-founded by Chapter member Maj. (Ret.) Denny Drewry who passed away earlier this year.
RIP William McArdle. Bill passed away on June 12, 2022 at his home in Quincy, Massachusetts at the age of 82. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 serving in Special Forces and Military Intelligence and was a member of Chapter 54.
Scholarship Announcement. The Scholarship Committee has selected Anna Claire Tsouklas and Taylor-Ann Greenwood for the annual 2022 scholarship. Each will recieve $2,000 towards their educational goals.

H&K Pistol Raffle. A number of chapter members have bought tickets for the raffle that generates funds for the chapter. If you need tickets send an email to Kevin P.
Fishing With Warriors. Chapter 54 member Hugh Van Roosen has been selected to attend the Fishing With Warriors trip to Costa Rica this year.
RIP Joe Connolly. The chapter has received word that Joseph Connolly passed away on October 2021. He was a retired Master Sergeant who served 34 years in the U.S. Army including time in Vietnam.
LTC William Buckley Remembered. Chapter member Bill Buckley was inducted into the Boston University ROTC Hall of Fame during a ceremony on April 29, 2022. He was a graduate of the BU Class of 1955.
RIP Harry E. Wellsman. Chapter member Harry Wellsman passed away on April 28, 2022. He was a resident of Buxton, Maine.
RIP Paul Piusz. Former Chapter 54 member SGM (Ret.) Paul Scott Piusz passed away on April 20, 2022. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and then in Special Forces for a total of 29 years. Obituary.
RIP Beverly Surette. Chapter member Beverly Surette, age 86, passed away on April 11, 2022. She was a Life and Associate member of the Special Forces Association. She was a long-time partner of LTC Bill Buckley. She was a staunch supporter of Chapter 54. Obituary.
RIP Denny Drewry. A long time member and former president of Chapter 54 passed away on March 8, 2022. IMO Denny.
