In Memory of
Lee Anthony Duncan
Lee Duncan of Gilford, New Hampshire passed away on April 4, 2024
at age 82. He was
a member of Chapter 54 of the Special Forces Association.
He was born Aguust 14, 1941, in Boston, Ma and formerly lived
in Revere, Ma. He graduated from Newton High School in the
Class of 61. Lee spent two years as a student at Boston
College.
In 1963 when he made the decision to enlist in the U.S. Army.
After his initial training and Airborne training, he was
accepted into the Special Forces Training Group. Upon
graduation from the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1964
he was assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) as
an Engineer Sergeant and deployed to Vietnam. Upon his return
from Vietnam he was honorably discharged from active duty.
Lee began a career with Metz Electronics and later with MEC
Communications. He was an avid skier, motorcycle rider,
snowmobiler, and enjoyed boating. He was active in his
community serving time as Commodore of the Glendate Yacht Club,
on the Town of Gilford Conservation Commission (for 30 years,
see page 5 at
link), and in various other community roles. One of his
favorite activities was watching his grandchildren at their
sporting events.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Andre Bessett
Parish - Sacred Heart Church of Laconia, New Hampshire on April
26, 2024. he is survived by his wife and a daughter.
