In Memory of
Leonard J. Henson
CAPT (Ret.) Leonard J. Henson passed away on March 21, 2024, at
the age of 83. He was a long-time associate member of Chapter 54 of the Special Forces
Association in Boston, Massachusetts. Len was a former Naval
officer. He was a life-long resident of Medford, Massachusetts.

After finishing High School, Len enlisted in the United States
Army, serving in the Military Police Corps at West Point. After
discharge from the service he attended college. He earned his
Bachelor of Science with honors at Northeastern University and
then earned his JD, cum laude, at Suffolk University Law
School.
Len's work career included serving as a Law Clerk and Chief Law
Clerk to the Justices of the Superior Court of the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts, and as Assistant District Attorney for
Suffolk County. He then worked with several law firms and was
an adjunct faculty member at Suffolk Law.
He joined the Navy JAG Corps of the U.S. Navy Reserve, serving
from 1978 to 2000, attaining the rank of Captain. He served in
various postings in the United States and overseas. He was also
a Naval Parachutist and on frequent occasions trained with
Company A, 1st Battalion, 11th Special Forces Group (Airborne)
at Fort Devens. During this time he became an Associate Member
of the Special Forces Association and began his affiliation
with Chapter 54.
