Chrismas Party. The Chapter Christmas Party was held on December 1, 2012 at the AMVETS, 55 Prime Parkway, Natick, Massachusetts.

BG Van Roosen. Chapter 54 member BG Hugh Van Roosen, US Army Reserve, has been selected as the next UNMIL Force Chief of Staff beginning mid-2012. He is currently the commander of the 353rd Civil Affairs Command in New York City. He will supervise a multinational headquarters staff in Monrovia. UNMIL is comprised of about 9,200 troops and police from 59 countries.

2012 Scholarship Award. The Chapter 54 Scholarship Award for 2012 has been provided to Jacqueline D'Amato of Woburn, Massachusetts. She is the granddaughter of chapter member Dick Nazzaro. Jacqueline is entering her sophomore year at the University of Massachusetts at Worcester where she will major in Elementary Education.

May Chapter Meeting. The guest speaker was Navy CDR(P) Lynn Blankenburger, who discussed her recent deployment as an emergency room nurse at a forward hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan. She was part of a medical team that treated casualties directly off the battlefield and prepared them for transport to the medical center at Landstuhl, Germany.

Taps. Three members of Chapter 54 passed away during 2012. Dennis Leahy, Francis Gowrie, and James Lewis.
