Richard Nazzaro
LTC (Ret.) Richard Nazzaro passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at the age of 86. He was a member of Chapter 54 of the Special Forces Association. Dick was a long-time member of the U.S. Army Special Forces. He served with the 10th, 11th, and 77th Special Forces Groups.

His long career in Special Forces began when he enlisted in the Army in 1956. He would serve on active duty for several years before joining the Army Reserves. He began service with the 11th Special Forces Group in the early 1960s. In the late 1960s he received a direct commission to Lieutenant in the Army Reserve. He would later serve as A/1/11th SFG(A) Company Commander and then as later as 1/11th Battalion Commander. He retired as an LTC.
Dick served for many years with law enforcement in the Boston area. He retired from the Massachusetts State Police with the rank of Lieutenant. In later years he served for over ten years as the President of his Home Owners Association. He is a former President of Chapter 54, Boston, Special Forces Association and served on the Chapter's Executive Board for many years.
