Presentation - "Americans Held Hostage: Politics, Strategies and Tactics". This talk by chapter member Edith Flynn will take place on December 8, 2025, at the Brookhaven senior living facility located at 1010 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA 02421 at 1:15 pm.

Celebration of Life for CW4 Mark Simon. A Special Forces soldier passed away on November 29, 2025 at age 58. He served on active duty and in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He was a member of A/1/19th as well as Special Operations Detachment Global. He was also a member of Chapter 48 SFA (RI). Those who wish to attend a celebration of life on January 9, 2026 in Newport, R.I. can register at this link. His obituary is posted here.

Passing of Frank Shaw. Chapter 54 member Frank Shaw passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at age 87. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserves after a long career in the 11th Special Forces Group. Frank was a former Massachusetts State Trooper. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 77 Clay Street, Littleton, NH 03561 beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be at the nearby Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery. Following the funeral a reception will be held at the church in the Community Room. IMO of Frank.

Annual Fall Pistol Raffle. This year's pistol offering is the Heckler & Koch CC9 Micro-Compact 9mm x 19. It is a sub-compact pistol and a perfect carry piece. The factory engraving on the sides and grip are especially made for SF personnel. The MSRP is $1,400 and the gun is Mass. compliant. Raffle tickets and raffle instructions have been mailed to all Chapter 54 members. This year's pistol drawing will be made at the annual Christmas Party . . . you do not need to be present to win.

Passing of Don Cummings. We have been informed that Don passed away October 17, 2025 at age 82. Services will take place on October 24th.

Passing of John Koski. We have been informed that John passed away July 27, 2025 at age 80. We will post more details as they become available. Imo of John

Passing of Gregory Marnon. Greg passed away on August 9, 2025 at the age of 81 at his home in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Annual Chapter 54 Cookout. The Chapter cookout was held on July 26, 2025 at the Hanscom Air Force Base Family Campground. Over 70 chapter members and guests attended.

16th Annual Run/Walk to Home Base
Ken Gingras from Chapter 54 participated in the 16th Annual Run/Walk to Home Base, Boston, MA, on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Over 5000 people participated in this special annual event.  Over $3.6 Million was donated to help our brother and sister veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, and physical disabilities related to their service. Mass General Hospital of Boston, MA has provided the professional and timely care for our warriors so they may have a meaning full life after their unselfish commitment to service to protect the United States of America. Pictured below is Ken Gingras crossing HOME BASE at FENWAY PARK. Ken was representing Chapter 54, Special Forces Association (Boston) and DAV Chapter 114, Natick, MA.

Shotgun Raffle Tickets Mailed. The raffle tickets for Chapter 54's annual raffle for a Benelli/Stoeger 12 guage shotgun have been mailed out to all Chapter 54 members. Tickets with check should be returned to the Chapter 54 president no later than July 18, 2024. Tickets can also be bought at the Chapter 54 cookout scheduled for July 26, 2025. Services for Bill Komenda. A gravesite burial service took take place at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscowen, New Hampshire on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Annual Meeting. The Chapter's annual business meeting took take place on at 10:00 am, February 8, 2025 at the Ferncroft Towers Meeting Room at 40 Village Road, Middleton, MA 01949. The meeting will be followed by a lunch at Supino's Italian Restaurant, 250 Newbury Street, Route 1, Danvers, Ma. The meeting agenda, proposed 2025 budget, and proposed 2025 event calendar has been emailed to all Chapter 54 members.

Passing of Dan Pierelli. Chapter member Daniel Pierelli passed away on February 15, 2025. He served with the 5th, 6th, and 10th Special Forces Groups. IMO of Dan Pierelli.

Passing of Bill Komenda. Chapter member Bill Komenda passed away on January 6, 2025. He was a long-time member of A/1/11th Special Forces Group. IMO of Bill Komenda.

Passing of Kevin Feeney. Chapter 54 member Kevin Feeney passed away on January 1, 2025. IMO of Kevin Feeney. A service was held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Goffstown, New Hampshire.
